The boys have had a busy week. We went to the Gurdwara Sikh Temple in Birmingham on Monday and were made very welcome and we all enjoyed the tour of the temple and the boys asked our guide some very good questions. We ate lunch out of school. Two of our boys played football on Tuesday morning and the Café was again very popular on Wednesday morning. In Maths, we have been learning about fractions and in English, we have been looking at biographies of Russian and American astronauts.
On Tuesday this week, Ray taught four boys to cook Banana Cake and some of it was sold in The Skilts Café on Wednesday morning. There were two teams and Ray was delighted that they all worked together and answered questions about weighing ingredients and mixing ingredients. The cake was delicious.
The Skilts Café
The Skilts Café opened last week and takes place during breaktime every Wednesday morning. The Café is run by Mrs Walker’s class and they are running it as a business. The boys are all involved in setting up the Cafe, serving customers, clearing up afterwards and keeping the books to show profit made.
The prices start from 10p per item to 50p and a large hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows has proved to be very popular with children and staff.
